Services
Permissions, E-Cataloging, Production, Distribution, Quick Add-Ons, Easy
Reorders, Cancellations Permissions
Our staff will request copyright permissions via:
- the Copyright Clearance Center, Inc.
- our site license with Harvard
- publishers
You may submit articles in advance of your entire packet to help expedite
the permissions process. We'll keep you updated on the status of permission
requests, as well as production timelines.
We are your official University resource for obtaining copyright approvals
for course packets and other publications. In fact, Policy
AD-46 states
that utilizing our services for copyright approvals ensures staff members
and their departments will not be liable for financial responsibility
in the event of copyright infringement.
E-Cataloging
Your documents can be scanned into our digital management system for
easy clean-up, de-skewing, pagination, and optimal quality. Your documents
will be retained in our "e-catalog" for future reference,
manipulation, and production.
Production
All packets are produced at our full-service digital center. You will
have the opportunity to review a proof copy before your packets are produced.
Packets include:
- black-and-white and color copies
- Penn State cover with your course information
- custom covers at additional costs
- complimentary three-hole drilling and shrink-wrapping
- additional binding and other production options
Distribution
Your course packets will be sent directly to the Penn State Bookstore
on campus. We'll also deliver directly to your office a minimum of
two free instructor copies.
Quick Add-Ons
Sometimes actual enrollment exceeds estimated levels. We can expeditiously
produce additional course packets; packet add-ons called in by 4:00 p.m.
will be ready for the bookstore by the morning of the next business day.
Easy Reorders
Simply give us a call if you are planning to use the same packet for
a subsequent semester or session. We'll pull all of the information
to request copyright permissions as necessary and get started promptly
on your packet.
Cancellations
The bookstore is not charged for any course packets cancelled prior to
production.
